Basically called out Saban, said "spread offenses are here to stay, deal with it"

The guy is a straight shooter

He opens the 2014 season in Atlanta against Alabama.

Given the nature of the game, teams will learn to adjust to the no huddle. Don't see how talking shite is beneficial to what he's trying to accomplish.

Just another in a long line of instances where every other conference is more focused on the SEC than themselves.

to be fair, the reported baited him into the question. I doubt Dana meant disrespect, he just says what is on his mind. I find that a refreshing trait.

Fair, yes. After the collapse that WV had to end last season, I would think Saban's opinion should be the last thing he'd be dogging.

Give us a scouting report on the 2013 WVU football team. Everyone knows you lost Austin and Smith. Back half of 2012 was a shite show.

2013 schedule:
William and Mary
@ Oklahoma
Georgia State
Maryland
Oklahoma State
@Baylor
Bye
Texas Tech
@ K State
@TCU
Texas
@Kansas
Bye
Iowa State

Folks expect the problems from last year to be fixed and for WV to bounce back this year.

Do you agree/disagree with Saban on the spread?

QB should be Clint Trickett, FSU transfer who has some quality experience.

Loaded at RB - Houston transfer Charles Sims, JUCO Dreamius Smith, Andrew Buie (300 yards vs. Texas), and Dustin Garrison.

WR - Should be good as there is a lot of talent coming in. Bama fans should know Ronald Carswell, who will be competing for a starting spot.

OL - Question mark

Defense - Almost everyone returns from a defense that started 5 freshmen last year. Not to mention Joe DeForest was fired as DC and moved to ST. WV has a real DC this year in Keith Patterson.

If I had to guess, I'd say 8-4

Texas' defense played two hand touch last year. I'm not impressed with this.

I think that Saban is smart enough to realize that the game is changing and he must adapt to those changes.

I might have missed it, but I wasn't aware that Saban said anything negative about the spread - at least not about banning it.

I thought it was Bielema that said that up-tempo offenses should be prohibited because of the injury risk. I don't agree with that.
