Looking at the kimber super carry pro or the pro carry cdp

Is the gun worth it? 1k is the price range but I think i could stretch a little more fore the super carry.

At the moment I plan on only owning 1 gun and want it to be nice. Will use for home defense and taking to the range. May eventually carry with it.

Are there any cons?

I would get a Sig before a Kimber. Its a good pistol, but.they have had issues with the finish rubbing off the slide.

I think there are a few more than this board would like to acknowledge. Apparently there are some issues with kimber sacrificing internal rigidity for enhanced smoothness to make them feel a little nicer than they really are. This information came from an older gentleman that had been through just about all the armory schools. I don't want to scare anyone away from buying a kimber but that old man surely scared me away...

No, I dont hunt and dont shoot recreationally. Having a cabinet full of guns would not exactly do me any good. Thanks for the advice though.

Buy a Glock or S&W M&P, some spare mags and use the rest for practice ammo. I'm not trying to troll the 1911 guys, but if you're a beginner, this is the better route to take imho.

It would be great if you could spring for a class too...I think there are a couple of guys here that do training.
