I would love to see the evidence, but we'll never know what exactly they had besides names on paper.

The records were pretty detailed. Substances used, when and how they were delivered, prices paid, detailed juicing plan laid out.

He was pretty nailed once MLB stole them from the guy that stole them from bio-gen (broke into his car in a smash and grab in a parking lot after following him for several hours).

I don't get all the outrage. All the guys that get caught initially deny it

Well "all the other guys" don’t personally blame the individual that collected the sample and call into question that person’s character and integrity, and then turn around and publicly gloat about it and claim that they were the victim

It had to be pretty damning for him to slink off like this.

Either it was truly damning, or he took the deal to get it over with now, recover from injuries, bail on a lost season and certainly receive a lesser punishment.

Taking the deal seems like a no brainer, but his credibility and legacy is eternally fricked.

Yeah, hang on. It is a long story. I linked it a few weeks ago.

Short version:

MLB tried paying off the guy that stole the records. Gave him $5-$10k in cash, then offered a paid position as a consultant with MLB, then eventually over $100k.

Guy drives to a storage unit, gets the records, gets tailed, ends up at a tanning salon, goes in and someone does a smash and grab for the records. Next day, MLB's offer to him is off the table. They had the records at that point.

Hold tight for link...

Doesn't sound like a no-brainer to me.

You've made a leap from that story to MLB stole the records.

No. Miami New Times is about as legit as it gets. They broke this whole story.

100% serious that Miami New Times is LEGIT. They bring down politicians, corrupt police, corrupt officials, and get people out of jail that were wrongly accused.

Their investigators are top notch. Seriously. I had a cop down here tell me about their main investigator that goes after cops and that he was very good at getting facts and sources to blow shite open.

I read the mag ever week. Some of the stories they break and shite they get done is amazing. They got a new trial for a guy in a federal prison a couple of months ago. I've been following there article about him for a couple of years. They blew a case of police corruption wide open and got the guy a new trial and found innocent on charges he was previously found guilty of.

You are correct.

However, MLB was offering a lot of money and gave the guy an envelope of cash trying to get them.

Dude would not give them up. He ends up getting tailed and the records stolen and they immediately end up in MLB's hands.

You do the math. Two possibilities...

A an independent theif had inside info and tailed a guy the public did not know about, stole the records and immediately sold or turned them over to MLB.

Or someone working for or with MLB, (PI or something) stole them.

Either way, the records were stolen out of a locked car and MLB got them right afterwards.

Yeah, they write some funny stuff too.

Their investigations are serious, in-depth and A+. There is zero doubt about that. And they protect their sources.
