Braun's comments after escaping his last suspension due to sample mishandling:

quote:

“We were able to get through this because I am innocent and the truth is on our side. We provided complete cooperation throughout, despite the highly unusual circumstances.

“I have been an open book, willing to share details from every aspect of my life as part of this investigation, because I have nothing to hide. I have passed over 25 drug tests in my career, including at least three in the past year.”

Nice.

Glad they're still catching users, but I hate how terrible this looks for the game

I don't get all the outrage. All the guys that get caught initially deny it. Primarily for the appeals process.

This was not him getting caught again. This was due to the biogenisis records.

Additionally, there are only a few hundred other guys juicing right now today that have not been caught.

It is a cat and mouse game that a ton of mlb players and other professional athletes play. And the initial response will always be denial to see if there is an out through the appeals process like there was from Braun UNTIL the former biogen employee stole records and outed all the players that were in them.

My best guess would be 25-33% of current MLB players use PED at some point during the season or offseason.

That is my opinion.

I would love to see the evidence, but we'll never know what exactly they had besides names on paper.

I'd imagine MLB told Braun this isn't going away and right now we're leaning towards suspension regardless of further evidence and testimony. You can either play ball now, or lose more money down the road.. Your choice.

He was caught, because of the Biogenesis records.

And when you get off on a technicality maybe you shouldn't self-righteously proclaim your innocence before the world.

official statement

quote:

“As I have acknowledged in the past, I am not perfect. I realize now that I have made some mistakes. I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions. This situation has taken a toll on me and my entire family, and it has been a distraction to my teammates and the Brewers organization. I am very grateful for the support I have received from players, ownership and the fans in Milwaukee and around the country. Finally, I wish to apologize to anyone I may have disappointed – all of the baseball fans especially those in Milwaukee, the great Brewers organization, and my teammates. I am glad to have this matter behind me once and for all, and I cannot wait to get back to the game I love.”

Lucroy has been ballin' as of late.

Between the herp and social ridicule and all the steroid talk.. this man's rep will never be good.

He's a legit top 5 catcher, just entering his prime.
