Over/under: Brees throws for 5,000 yds, 40 TD's

I'm going with under. With Payton back, our playcalling will be a lot more balanced and we won't air it out nearly as much. I still think he's at the mid 4,000 yard mark, but not near what he threw for last year. And that's a good thing IMO. PT and Imgram will have good years and ease the load. And 37 TD's.
Although, a lot will determine on what Ryan can do with this defense. If we are in endless shootouts, then Brees breaks the 5,000 mark again. But this is me being optimistic.

I'll say over. But not by much. He can still go over and us have a top running game. See 2011.

I think that in the last just 3 years the style of offense in thr nfl as a whole has changed dramatically. I think that drew goes for over 5k for the 3rd straight year.

Closer to 4200-4500 yes but TDs will be close (38-45 range).

So you are saying Drew will throw for less yards this season because of more balance from the running game? Did you even pay attention at all to the 2011 season?
The run game finished being ranked 6th & Drew threw for over 5,400 that year. A better & more consistent run will only open up the deep ball down the field even more as well as underneath/over the middle area of the field. No offensive coach goes for the jugular with the deep ball more then Sean Payton & I don't anticipate that changing this season.
With a solid run game & no major injuries on the offensive side, I can see Brees throwing for 5400-5600 yards this season.

It did happen in '11, but that was a freak year. Not saying a repeat of that is impossible, but I don't think you can count on that kind of production being automatic.

Under yards over TD's hopefully

This is what I was thinking.

Yes, it was a freak year in terms of total yardage but it was very much a tale of two halves.
At the midway point the team was 5-3 & had 4 "unSaintlike" offensive performances at Jacksonville, at Carolina, at Tampa & at St. Louis.
In the first half of the season, the offense struggled to be able to run the ball consistently. Do you remember how terrible Olin Kruetz was at center?
After replacing Kruetz with DLP, the offense took off & never looked back.
So even with a lack of balance for half of a season Drew threw for 5400 that season & 5000+ last season with no balance.
If the offense runs the ball consistently for an entire season, I don't see how it's not realistic to see Brees potentially throw for 5400-5600 yards.
