re: Trayvon Martin Protesters Delayed Sick Child’s Trip to ER

The black community has no idea how badly they are harming themselves right now and they continue to damage public opinion amongst the rest of America who are not race baiters and white guilt people.

It's sad.

Much like me???? Am I sitting in the hood with my band of brothers blocking these people from getting home? No Im not bc Im not a savage and have better things to do with time than block a highway 5 states away from the epicenter of the entire issue they're supposedly protesting for.

I rest my case

Hispanics, culturally seem to be all over the place. I think they are more like whites in that they aren't one "community."

Its probably one of the few things you might actually be able to attribute to slavery. If you think about it, I would imagine most native blacks in America have no idea what modern-day country in Africa their family is from. They just know they are from "Africa" generally. This allows them to identify as one big group of former "Africans."

While, if you are hispanic, you identify as Argentinian, or Spanish, or Costa Rican, etc, since you know your ancestry. This breaks up the monolith much like how Whites say they are Italian, German, etc, and that brings about differences. Differences break up the monolith, and so on.

First generation blacks are much more different, and probably don't culturally identify as "black" as much as they do "Nigerian" or "Nambian."

actually you posted from some unknown website without bothering to search for a legitimate news source or the video, which makes me question your reasons for rushing on here.

It's bad enough that these protestors tried to block this family without reporting they were hitting on an old lady, which as you can see from the video, didn't happen (even though the woman claimed otherwise).

I thought you were sincere in your earlier thread. I was wrong.

Right, and people from Latin America could be white, black, native or a combination thereof. Their nationalities, backgrounds may be completely different.

I linked the video in the OP. The exact same video you later linked.

I've never heard of the news source. I saw it linked on Facebook. But the video speaks for itself. They try to block a car filled with two women and a child, and one guy reaches for the passenger to grab her. Who knows what would have happened if the driver had not sped away.

You seem to have no feeling whatsoever for what it must be like for two women to be surrounded by an angry mob of males. Do you think they might have feared being raped? Beaten? Do you think they feared for the sick child? How did you get so calloused? How can you look at that video and not feel their fear?

I don't even know what that means. I'm not sincere in what?

sabidojo, you just want everything to be so politically correct, that goes right out the window when

1.blacks block a highway in houston to protest a trial in florida
2.blacks pick the richest neighborhood in houston to protest a trial in florida
3.blacks storm downtown houston courthouse to protest a trial in florida

If they're not going to go down to florida to be politically correct, and choose to act like animals all over town, then Im not going to acknowledge them as normal human beings. They're setting their own people backs years every day this goes on, look how hard it is for blacks to get jobs as it is now, 15% unemployment or so according to the congressman talking to bernanke this morning. How is society going to view them after this? I can tell you it's not helping their image.

It's not about political correctness, it's about having mutual respect for one another, even if others are being uncivil.

I find the riots and protests very disturbing. I never like seeing innocent people get hurt, but I'm not going to start spewing racially charged language because of it. Hasn't there been enough senseless behavior already?

There is a difference between educated, civilized black people and this group of bigots that are rampaging around houston trying to ignite a race war. They cannot be treated like normal people bc they are not.

It still doesn't excuse calling them those names. Look, reading this stuff angers me too. In fact, it infuriates me. We shouldn't live in a community where we have to worry about actions that amount to anarchy, but I think your earlier statements were more damaging than productive to this thread.

You plan on mediating this beer summit? Third world actions deserve third world consequences. You can't reason with stupid sir.

Was a long thread about this on the OT...

The family blew it out of proportion, but it was still a shitty situation. They should have just kept going instead of slowing down at all.

The more interesting thing will be this Sunday when they protest in River Oaks and the counter protest that has been set up... The opposition is just as fricking stupid, the leader is using a confederate flag as a symbol

That's absurd.

I wouldn't expect people from different countries to consider themselves one community - whether they're black or hispanic.

Besides which, have hispanics ever been institutionally marginalized in America? Do white people start moving out of a neighborhood whenever Hispanics start to move in - effectively forcing blacks to live in their own communities?

It's sad to see this media circus being used to justify racism.
