Do other NFL teams name homecoming games?
Texans fans please provide your thoughts on how you feel about this.
I am sure radio guys will mock them with this if they lose to the Pats.
Edit: I searched, but if already discussed I will delete

The Texans actually announced themes for all eight of their home games, but only the Patriots matchup really stands out. There's the "White Out" game in Week 2 against the Titans sponsored by Liberty, the "Hispanic Heritage" game in Week 4 against the Seahawks, the "Pink Ribbon" game against the Rams in Week 6, the "Battle Red Day" game sponsored by Halliburton in Week 9 and a slew of other sponsored, fan-oriented matchups designed to make game day more interesting.
But the Pats game really, really stands out. It's not sponsored; it simply says "Homecoming."
You know I suppose it could be kind of neat to start a tradition like this, bringing back all of your living greats for a game. Plus it kind of fits the culture of Texas, which borders on cultish with the following of football.

Even stranger, the Pats are the last game of a three game home stand.

I think that is cool to be honest.
Have kind of like a historical remembrance weekend. Another excuse to get even more pumped/drunk for the game.
Could even get the fans involved and do a King/Queen, and maybe a homecoming court of old players fans would love that shite. Would get bitches involved I bet. Just saying.
Even though its weird for them to do it out of all the teams.

Every single word of this.

Why? Its not like there wasn't football in Houston before the Texans. I'd bet the Earls, Moons, and Mathews identify more with Houston than the Tennessee Titans.

I understand that, but fact is the Houston Texans were an expansion team with a different owner than Bud Adams.
Just saying out of all this isn't the team that jumps to mind for a thing like this.

Whatever gets the fans wound up.
They have spent some time and effort in Houston to get fans excited and to turn locals from Cowboys to Texans fans. Fans finally believe in McNair and Kubiak.
They go nuts for Bulls On Parade, I think they'll eat this stuff up when that game comes around.

I get plenty pumped for the game, nothing wrong with another excuse to get excited and justify my actions on a Sunday afternoon.
