David Ortiz just became the all-time leader in hits by a DH

Passed Harold Baines with hit number 1,952 (1,689 as a DH)

Agreed. Not only is he a great guy, but you have to admire how his game has evolved over the last few years after so many people counted him out.

Broke the record on a opposite-field double in the gap. Wouldn't have seen that 9-10 years ago.

Exactly. He made the AS game every year with the Sox except '09 and every year since then his BA, OBP and SLG has all gone up. It's quite impressive. To think they almost forced him into retirement

Kinda ironic it was against Seattle who signed him in 1992 and was traded to the Twins (for Dave Hollins) in 1996.
