the Heat don't win the championship this upcoming year?

A. Stay in Miami and rally the troops for another run
B. Go to Cleveland where Kyrie and unproven core of young players await (Bennett, Waiters, Tristan)
C. Go to Lakers and possibly team up with Kobe & another big fish (Melo?)

IMO Miami is no lock to win the ship.. If battier doesn't go bonkers in G7, jesus shuttlesworth doesn't hit a miraculous 3, and birdman doesn't set the record for consecutive fg's all don't happen together, Miami wouldn't have won this year. I can't say that another year added to that team will make them better

Go to Cleveland if Irving proves that he can stay healthy an entire season.

This is a super interesting question, and I don't know what the answer is.

I feel like if they win this year, he can say he won three championships with Miami, and it is a success. If he wins even one in Cleveland, that is a HUGE accomplishment and closes the door nicely on his career. If he wins THREE in Cleveland, he retires as the GOAT in my opinion. He would most likely finish with more MVPs than Jordan and the story behind the titles would be really cool.

Would anyone really expect him to run away from Miami for not winning it all one year? And if he was that dumb, he'd be seriously brain dead to pick the Cavs or LA.

I'd like to see B for him personally.

But C would be a better basketball move.

And if Danny Green doesn't break the NBA Finals 3 point record, the Heat probably win in 5 or 6. The entire notion of "If X doesn't happen, a team loses" is so stupid.

ETA: but to answer the question, Lebron is going to retire a Pelican.

Ironically winning again may make leaving the Heat easier. If he wins he can leave on his terms. If he loses he's running away again.

im sure i'll get skewered for saying this, but he should take a massive paycut. i know its easy for me to say he should take less, but hes about to enter the 2nd half of his prime, and titles are all that matters. instead of taking the biggest paycheck he can get, like kobe did after the title in 09, he should play for the vet minimum to maximize the help around him. the lakers are on the hook for $30M this year for kobe bean-- how can you win a title with one person taking so much of the cap? dont get me wrong, if anyone deserves it, its him. but in the scheme of things, he has other avenues to makeup the money, and if he wins 6+ rings, his brand will pay it back tenfold.

Quit basketball and take up football.

Immediately become the most dominant wide receiver in the game and clinch the title as the best athlete to ever walk the planet.

Well technically it would be 2 out of 4 years. If they don't win next year, it would most likely be due to the continuous decline of Bosh and Wade. Battier, Allen, Haslem are already on their last legs. Re-upping for 4-5 more years isn't that easy of a decision
