While you make a valid point,I think it's the quality of the recruits rather than the quantity.

LSU has lost very few players from LA of note. How good was Luther Davis? How good was Sentimore who stayed a very short time at Alabama and finished at TN? Kenny Bell has been an AVERAGE SEC starting WR at best. Lacey was the best LA player gotten by the midget, and his academics were not good out of HS. We'll see how good Landon Collins turns out to be. I remember Trovon Reed being a god out of LA and signing with Auburn and the guy has done squat there! If this was pro sports, T Reed would be classified right now as "player to be named later". And even with Lacey, Hill was better than Lacey last year.

Guy, try to follow college football before posting. Lacy was not even the #1 back on Alabama's team. Yeldon clearly is the better back. See you are a McNeese fan...you must be doing talent evaluation for them, huh? Get a clue!

Behind a much better OL, Lacy average 6.5 ypc, Hill at LSU 5.3. But in the receiving area, Hill averaged 9.1 per reception, Lacy 8.6 ypc.

Saban is finding the pressure points. These guys want to go to bama and play for Saban no doubt, but Saban is using handlers and other parties to get close to these prospects.

He's used this tactic for a while. He had some folks on the ground in Florida when he was at LSU.

Purple, ii am not on the Advocate board.
However, I hope your reading comprehension serves you better on that site than here.
Maybe you should re read my post
Or take your seven posts back to the Advocate.

IF you are not on the Advocate board, someone is using the same perfectly fitting userid (nitwit) there and posting the same type of posts there. And once again, I guess OL L. Collins didn't count as a test for LSU recruiting vs Alabama huh? Midget boy has gotten very few players of note out of LA. Last year for example, he got that "coveted" WR Falkins that is NOT a division 1-A caliber receiver (too slow and not quick) that LSU didn't even offer. But hey, here's the good news...you can always discount Robinson after the fact if he signs with LSU and say "he wasn't a high priority for Saban"...just like OL Collins wasn't huh?

Purpleandgold,
There are lots of Nitwits who post.
If you had more self awareness and reading comprehension, you would realize you are one.
Now read my posts again and see if you can figure out why CRob is a bigger test for Miles than La'el.
I'll not hold my breath while you try...

Lacy was a huge loss for the simple fact we couldnt tackle him

Wow how soon we forget, we didn't lose Lacy to Bama we gave him to Bama. Lacy was LSU all the way but the coaches didn't think he would qualify so they didn't pursue him and he had one of those non-committable offers kind of like Christine Michael. if Lacy would have had a committable offer he would have been wearing purple & gold.

nitwit, I read your post which is why I have criticized it. Quite frankly, I regret wasting part of my life reading it the first time.

As far as Lacy goes, how many MORE games does anyone think LSU would have won with Lacy on the LSU roster? My opinion is a grand total of 0! RB has been a strength on this team for a long time. If Lacy could have played QB, I would be Otherwise, who cares! Alabama without Lacey still had Richardson and now has Yeldon...both better than Lacy.

Purpleandgold,
We agree. Your effort to read and understand my post was a waste of time.
Next time, take a break when your lips get tired, then continue.

Noooo, I understood your post fine, but it really wasn't accurate. Robinson is NOT the best and only test between LSU and Alabama. Maybe you don't follow recruiting much but OL L Collins was as HUGE test a couple of years ago, and LSU won that one when Alabama wanted him. There have been others but speaking of lips, you seem to think that the midget hasn't missed on "high priority" LA players in the past and must be tired kissing his arse...they have.

This^^^

Robinson could very possibly be the #1 overall recruit in the nation in the next update. Anyone who thinks that losing a guy like that to bama doesn't make a huge statement on and off the field is kidding themselves.

We'll be fine as always, but LSU cannot continue to lose the top player in the state to Alabama and expect to beat them every year. Those guys are usually top ten national caliber players and they aren't easily replaced.

You're joking right? Willis beat him 1 on 1 in The Opening drills, and there are other DEs ahead of Willis. He stays where he is which is top 10 BTW, which ain't bad. And I hate to ask this but who did LSU lose LAST year to Alabama of note. LSU has lost to my knowledge a grand total of 1 top player in the state to the midget...that was Landon Collins, and I seriously doubt he will end up being the best player that year out of LA HS. As far as expecting LSU to beat Alabama every year, could you maybe document when LSU EVER beat Alabama every year? C'mon guy, that just isn't realistic. What LSU has done the last 30 years (basically broken even is about the best anyone can expect unless Alabama hired Mike Shula again.

Purpleandgold,
I am no expert but La'el and CamRob are very different recruiting stories.
La'el was from right here in BR, in th efirst place.
His family was overwhelmingly for LSU;
Alabama was never in the equation (his choices included FSU, Auburn, USC among others, but not Ala).
Accd. to Rivals he first commmitted in September 2009! He was a 2011 recruit.
La'el was always staying in BR and going to LSU.
CamRod's recruitment is wide open, abd it represents a true test for Miles.
I don't understand why folks find it difficult to acknowledge what the recruit tells us himself. He , unlike others, is entirely credible.

If you know something the rest of us do not, pls tell, MOT.
He's going to a lot of trouble to attend the LSU camp...

Yeah, but Willis was the only one who could. Robinson dominated everybody else. The only reason they ranked Robinson #3 is because he couldn't play in pads, not his fault at all. The general consensus on 247 is that Robinson will be the #1 ranked player in this class.

You play to win the games. As long as they're keeping the best talent in Alabama, ga and n. florida, we need to keep the best in our region. I don't think anyone would say they prefer Martin and Thompson over Collins. Those guys will be solid, but they don't have the game changing ability of Collins.

We've been very talented the last few years, but bama has been a little bit more talented and that's why they've won 3 out of 4. That could just as easily be LSU, but two or three players can be the difference between winning and losing those games.

If we can keep this class instate, then we'll probably have the better team over the next few years. Coaching is a wash, contrary to what espn wants everyone to believe.
