Get someone like Pachulia or Dorrell Wright this year with that ~$5m in space we have, then use the MLE on whichever SF (aging Granger?)/C position we didn't fill this season.

With possible Holiday/Gordon/Evans/Ryno/AD in crunch time, I wonder if we've ever seen a team go from slowest paced in the league to top 10 without changing coaches.

Why would he duck? I don't think even the biggest homer have said title time.

I haven't read the thread but I already hate Sfp idea of hoping we have yet another losing season. Always the people who never actually support the team with money that want to suck.

Culture of losing around here needs to be turned around

He's not saying go and have a losing season, he's saying that we don't have to try and fill every position in one offseason. We'll be over the cap next season with a great core, we'll be able to use the MLE on one of the final pieces to put us over the top. Spending our cap space on a decent center to play maybe 20mpg and getting that SF next year to help us make that next leap is a good plan. As we are now, we're still going to have a good chance at being a playoff team, which will raise the quality of guys willing to come here for the MLE.

Yep. Fans tend to undervalue the importance of this.

because getting 3 all stars in back to back to back drafts is an extremely rare and unlikely occurence

Because drafting 3 straight superstars in the lottery is almost impossible. Otherwise the Bobcats, Kings, Wizards, etc. wouldn't be there every year.

I never understood why people act like Okc model and sa model are same.
Okc sucked and took very small chances in their drafts and picked high for a grand total of 1 good year.
They are already losing ground. People put them u there like their model is impeccable.
The spurs have got really good players extremely late in 1st round and in 2nd. Okc had it easy and their window is almost done because they couldn't keep all the young talent together .
San ant. True masters of draft get good players who are willing to stick around and fit their system.

frick the Okc model

Like people said, they struck gold 3 times in 3 straight drafts. And they had just enough losing seasons to get those guys. Everything worked out perfectly for them. We cant expect the same to happen to us.
