You're building a franchise who do you pick:

Mike Trout (21) OF
Matt Harvey (24) SP
Bryce Harper (20) OF
Yasiel Puig (22) OF
Manny Machado (20) 3B (could play SS or 2nd)

Harvey with a team that does not resemble a AAA team? Give me that all day

I would go with Trout but I think any of those 4 could be justified as the right choice

I pick either Puig or Harper.

Harvey is a pitcher and you always have a bigger worry with injury and him being a Mark Prior than you do with a hitter.

Trout gets too much value from his legs and that will dwindle over the years. Not saying he won't be a great player, but by the time he's 29-30, he's lost a lot of his value IMO.

Puig isn't from the U.S., so there's always a chance he's 26 already, plus there's been a small sample size there. On the other hand, Harper is still very young, but has been shown to be injury prone.

Could you imagine being 21 and in the bigs? Unreal.

That's the most insane thing to imagine. These guys are putting up All-Star numbers in the major leagues while the rest of us were likely getting drunk in college at about that time of our lives

Huh? Jacoby Ellsbury leads the league in steals and he's about to be 30. Maybe 32-33.

I guess my gut says pitcher, but everything else held constant if we're gonna have possible injuries in the mix, I've gotta go with Harper. Dude plays balls to the wall every day. He's got a sweet swing and goes the other way. I hate to think that Puig might be a flash in the pan

If I was building a franchise I would pick Mike Trout.

That being said I do believe Puig has the most talent/potential.

For some reason I have the biggest man crush on Bryce Harper. Mike Trout would be a close second.

being a fan of a team in his division, I love watching him play. I worry about him in LA though, it's a toxic environment

Trout

Harper is the only other one I would consider.

Honestly I'll take any one of them.

Welcome to the future of MLB
