It did well enough internationally that the studios are going ahead with it.

But I bet they wish they had kept the original ending now though; I just don't know how they can do anything now with the framework left in the first one.

Probably is going to have a different director though, apparently Pitt and Foster butted heads a LOT during the whole refilming process.

I heard something about this today. I have not seen the movie yet but I have read the book. I was puzzled about how the movie was such a stark divergence from the book. Looking at it now, maybe WWZ is a set up for a subsequent movie that plays more to the format of the book.

It kinda makes sense.

Well, for us non-readers, we still don't know what caused the virus and there is also the possibility of it mutating again.

Just throwing that out there. Sure humanity is starting to win some battles, but that war ain't over son.

Yeah, it really wouldn't be hard at all to get a good sequel out of this. shite, they could probably do another 2 or 3 movies. There is so many directions they could go, a few questions they can still answer and it would also be easy to start some new questions.

They can actually show the humans fighting back.

How?

They already established a way to remove all danger from it.

Where is the tension?

Unless they suddenly do a script slight of hand and say the zombies have evolved to see through the ploy

Oh I don't know, maybe the fact that you are hinging the survival of your species on something that KILLS your fricking species?

Maybe that's a start.

Went to see WWZ today and dug it. Of course there were 20 douchebags who walked out bitching that that "the zombies were too fast". This was my favorite Pitt role since possibly Ocean's 13 or Mr and Mrs Smith.

There are a lot of ways they could move the movie series forward from the first movie. They didn't deadhead the ending, just made mention that the humans were starting to fight back and had some momentum.

Yeah I heard some of that too. Don't buy into that though. I love the traditional zombies as much as anyone, but the fast as frick zombies are actually inherently scarier. Not to mention easier to visualize spreading across the globe in apocalyptic fashion.

Same. Mr. and Mrs. Smith is probly my favorite Pitt role.

Just saw it and they can definitely make a sequel out of this.. They stated multiple times "this is not a cure just a form of camouflage". Yeah we are winning a few battles and killing some people but over 4 billion people or so were supposedly changed to zombies\rabies whatever. They still don't know the origin of the virus and don't know how to cure it. And as stated earlier virus's can mutate so you never know what they could add

What if that scientist who was locked in the room with all the diseases get infected and survives creating a zombie that spreads this disease along with the zombie virus. Or if the zombie virus mutates with the disease to become a new strain that ignores the camouflage
