What is the phenomenon that is derailing the Deedy Slaughter thread?

I have plenty of new stuff to add but it doesn't appear to be updating correctly. Anyone?

It's called an anchor.
Probably because the Zimmerman thread is now the thread to make all the funny race jokes.

NO! Isn't there room enough for us to appreciate all of the stupidity? BTW, I hardly see the Zimmerman situation as "racist" when we are simply following the facts. Making fun of the white prosecutors and the white Judge and the white Defense Attorney can hardly be seen as "racist" since we all know that only white folk referring to other races is racist and I am white and..... Damn. Forgot where I was going.

It does make sense though. Anchor a thread about ongoing corruption from a local mayor, but keep a few threads about a mixed race shooting from Florida on the front page.

Really, the ongoing debacle with the mayor actually affects people and the current makeup of a town.

The point is that alot of the trayvon threads are ripe with racism, if only subtle. I was under the impression that that was a huge problem here.
Can someone answer my question? Do you want the Slaughter thread to go away or should I continue updating it as the story unfolds?
