Xbox One to have adapter for Xbox 360 wired headsets / Pic of the Sony "Headset"

The Xbox One will not come bundled with a headset, because the Kinect, which is included in every package and required for the console to function, will perform basic voice chat duties. There is an official headset, though.
Both Mad Catz and Turtle Beach have said they’ll be developing peripherals for the new console as well.

Looks like a cell phone style headset to me. I don't see anything wrong with it as a pack-in. People who are more serious about voice chat in games will buy something else, of course.

For what it's worth Pulse Headsets should still work with the PS4 without an adapter and possibly other headsets.

Sony has a regular 3.5 MM jack on it's controller for headphones. It seems like anything will work on them. Has that ever even been a question?

It probably is, but this style of earbuds w/ mic can be decent or at least serviceable for anyone wanting to get their feet wet with online gaming.
But if you gave me the option of using the PS4 solution or screaming over my kids, wife, and dog, hoping the Kinect mic is picking up what I'm saying, I'll take the PS4 option over the Xbox One "solution."
ETA: For what it's worth, if I was seriously going to play online, I'd buy a headset for either system.

Serious question...why don't you PS3 people buy a good headset?
No one on PSN has mics and if they do it's that shitty bluetooth that makes you feel like you are talking to someone on a CB radio. I never understood it.
ETA: Maybe the cross game chat will encourage more people on PS4 to buy good headsets.

Why even include shite like this? If you're using that piece of shite, either it a Sony piece of shite or a Microsoft piece of shite, you're not doing it right anyway.

But it cost Sony .25 cents to have it made by a 12 year Chinese kid so why not include it for marketing purposes?
