Anyone on the OB have any experience fly fishing on the Little Missouri River near Albert Pike, AR? Any tips or suggestions on best parts of the river to fish?

Went all the time growing up, it is a great place to hike, camp and fish - Beautiful country. Just make sure you watch the weather, flash flooding is no joke in that area. If you are willing to walk a little way and camp from a tent you can have entire sections of the river all to yourself.

I can't specifically speak to fly fishing, we always used light spinning reels and corn for bait. We mainly caught trout and some of them were good size. I am sure you could do very well with a fly rod. Definitely worth the trip to explore in my opinion.

Love Albert Pike.

It may be hot for trout, but smallies should be around. Tiny traps getzit or shiners should do the trick.

Never heard of the little Missouri but that doesn't mean anything. Reading about it it sounds pretty promising.

AR is one of the best states in the nation for big trout on a fly. I'm taking my son in two weeks for his first trout fishing trip. He got new waders this afternoon. He told me when he was getting in bed that he wished we were going tomorrow.

Have canoed it from Albert Pike all the way down to the lake. We normally just fished with spinners and tore em up.

Really neat, lightly visited area in West Central Arkansas. Only about 3 hours from NW La. There's some pretty country around there.
