You got me. But daddy doesn't live in Chalmette anymore, and this bad back has me on the shelf since '05.

We could have a trade contingent on Bennett being there... I have no sources, but I would think that would be the likely reason if a promise occurred.

@chadfordinsider: More draft intrigue from Cavs! Hearing, somewhat convincingly, that owner Dan Gilbert loves Victor Oladipo. Me too @cavsdan!!!

be careful. pt gonna get you for thinking outside of their circle!!

unless we get a top 4 pick, 2014 is not any better than this year.

@Macintosh- no it isn't. Remember 03? The one everyone hails as legendary? Legendary for four stars, David west and a few good role players. Same with 14. Except you haven't even seen these guys play a college game yet. Wiggins might not be the #1 pick. But none of that matters. A good draft, even a really good draft, is about 7 picks deep. In terms of producing any type of significant talent. We won't be in the top ten next year. Dell and Monty both don't want that. We won't be a playoff team, but well have like the 12th pick, rendering a pick like that useless. We don't need it.

Preseason this year, Shabazz was the clear cut #1 pick and the next Carmelo. Didn't pan out. He played great in high school, not so much in college. As much as no one wants to admit it, Wiggins COULD have the same happen to him

Exactly. We are talking 5 spots. 5. In a weak draft where anyone could fall. Next year, what if players get hurt? What if we suck? What if we are at pick 12 and win the lottery? Next year is way too potentially stacked. Ridiculous deal. Demps is almost certainly laughing his arse off.

I'm under a few assumptions here

1. Grievis is at the height of his value. I lol at people who think he'll get any better than he's been the past two years. he's at his ceiling, but he won't make the difference for Cleveland. they might make the playoffs, but will lose in round 1 with him. if they don't, they're an East team so IDGAF

2. We're not gonna suck next year. I'll take the odds that a pick > 8 or 9 doesn't win the lottery bc we absolutely will win more games

3. the fanbase is dumb. they don't know that's it's a weak draft. they'll just hear that we got the #1 pick again and ring up the phone lines for tickets

But having overrated star prospects makes it more likely that the next Kahwi Leonard falls to the teens where the Pelicans would be picking. The pick is only useless to bad GMs which I don't think Dell is. Things would be different if this was last year's draft and there was a clear cut #1, but the top 6-7 have been playing musical chairs ever since Noel tore his ACL. The #1 pick might be worth 2 assets (6 and Vasquez), no way in hell it's worth a 3rd asset, not this year.
