We could have had a deal if they wouldn't have asked for our 2014 Pick.

Next years pick is a non-starter. Period. Not giving it up unless it is completely lottery protected.

You must think we are going to sign somebody semi-big this year.

We have money to spend and would have the #1 overall pick in the draft.

You have to believe in AD and River's growth. shite, you people have pimped Monty's ability to develop players like AFA and Vasquez. If that is true, imagine what he will do with guy who possess actual talent.

You have to believe in how good Gordon is when healthy. And if you don't believe in that, you can always fall back on players we can get back in a possible deal.

Im willing to bet anyone $100 (paid via paypal) we do not pick in the top 10 next season

Exactly. We are talking 5 spots. 5. In a weak draft where anyone could fall.

It's not about that.

It's about guaranteeing getting a guy you want.

Of course no Pelicans fan will take that bet, but it isn't out the realm of possibility. Post it on the MSB, and you may have some takers.

barring unforeseen injuries I see us possibly hovering around that 8th seed. might not get it but I think we'll be in the mix late season

Who would the Pelicans really want? Would it be about making sure they got Len or maybe Oladipo?

Miles is supposedly one of the only media members that is relatively close to Dell.

A weak FA class in a weak market just reeks of overpaying for mediocre starter talent.

Which will be...?

shite, you people have pimped Monty's ability to develop players like AFA and Vasquez

Don't lump me in with that, jury is still out on Monty.

Explain to me how #1 in this draft, where there are about 5-6 players around the same level, is worth giving up our starting point guard and next year's 1st.

If we do this deal, we're increasing the payroll for our draft pick significantly, removing Vasquez' favorable deal, and having to fill a hole at point guard in addition to anything else not addressed by the #1 pick.

We'd be without 40% of a starting lineup unless you plan on starting Roberts or Rivers at point.

The 6th is the least valuable (to our franchise) of those assets, in my opinion.

Did you see me taking the bet? No, because I wouldn't bet against the Pelicans. Don't lump me in with Danman.

Also, you would take this deal, so that tells me you and brmark should get together.
