Just curious if any of you OTers were involved or not, but I just sat through the longest, most elaborate funeral procession ever. Headed south on Airline, there must have been 150 motorcycle cops (troopers and EBR deputies), state police Tahoes and various other police SUVs, and then about 500 cars.
I got caught in that crap on I-110. I cannot believe that they shut down the friggin interstate for that...as if there are no surface roads to get where they were going. Not trying to be insensitive (hell, I was just a pallbearer on Monday), but that is no excuse to shut down one of the busiest roads in the country, causing a major safety hazard for approaching traffic. Now traffic in BR will be completely knotted up until 10pm.

Joke or not, that's why cops don't take chances at all, like this cop who was on a call and decided to walk across the street to shoot the pit bull sitting on the neighbor's porch as it started to walk to the owner's backyard. Cops are true heroes who put their life on the line every day in a world full of deadly rabid family pets.
