I guess the whole idea of what I'm getting at is:
I agree with you that due to that offense and Payton returning, the Saints are ranked way too low at 19.

However, don't laugh at the Dolphins and Rams. I really like those two teams going into 2013.

What I don't get is if Sean Payton left the Saints and went to a team, like say, the Vikings... Everyone and their momma would say by that move the Vikings will be that much better.

Why the frick doesn't anyone say that about the Saints? We went 7-9 and was only a few bad or lucky breaks away from a 10-6 season with an interim to the interim and the interim coaches.

Maybe it could be me being biased, but I think getting back a tough nosed, offensive minded coach that doesn't allow his team to falter is worth more than a Greg Jennings arrival.

?? Most people/writers are saying that Payton returning to the Saints was the best "offseason move" the Saints could've had. They also realize that the Defense was historically bad and you have a new D coordinator implementing a new D scheme.

The return of Payton will not change your Defensive players at all, so that's what people are concerned about with the Saints. You're a blind caravan fan not to have the same concerns.

While I agree it sucks to lose Butler, i don't think it's as disastrous as it's made out to be. Butler and Galette IMO were extremely comparable, both producing well when they got their shots. Butlet, Wilson, and Galette were all going to be fighting for one spot considering Payton/Ryan seem hell bent on putting Smith at OLB. We just can't afford anymore injuries

Two things.

The O was horribly inconsistent last year. That did the D no favors. This shouldn't be a problem this season. Positive.

They players didn't believe in Spags system (for whatever reason) so it didn't translate onto the field. I hate when people say it, because they are pros and all, but it showed. IMO, they want to play for Ryan. That, alone, will improve their play. Positive.

They added/touched/upgraded at every level of the D. Dline, LBs (the guy is hurt now, but he would have started) CB and Safety. Positive.

Hey...It can't get any worst. Positive.

And you have to be the same to not expect improvement.

No, I do expect the Saints to improve... never said I didn't. Just stating why I understand people/writers having concerns about the Saints. I think the Saints should compete for the NFC South this year. 9-10 wins is reachable. Just depends on that D.

No but the fact that he will keep the offense on the field longer will do wonders for the D.

That's okay, it'll just hurt that much worse when we stick it in.

I'm not going to lie, I like reading power polls and prediction reads and shite....mostly because I'm hoping to see that the Saints are getting some respect. I'm a glutton for punishment that way because outside of local media and John Gruden, the national media hate the Saints. But still, at the end of the day, the polls and shite don't mean anything. But yea, it sucks to read that shite sometimes.
