When do you start putting out trail cams?

Heading up to mississippi camp in morning to cut grass/clean. Too early to put out a couple cams or no?

I like putting them out early but usually the end of next month. Horns are growing but kinda hard to c what the potential is until at least august or september. I have a salt lick i've had fixed up for about 5-6 years and im getting anxious to get a camera on it as well! Everyone has different opinions but these are just a few of mine.

Honestly, we never took ours down. BUT, until late July it was a waste of time. We did it really to have an excuse to go check the camp and see if there were any trespassers.

I've got pics now from deer you can already tell will be good deer. No reason to wait until July.

We put them out last weekend. We saw a couple deer driving around with decent velvet so why not.

Keep one up on my pond
Also planted some soybeans on my place a couple weeks back & put one up on 1 plot, got 1 buck already in the beans

I put mine out a month ago. But I like to look at pics if deer and it gives me a reason to get out to the camp.
