So, you think Matt Ryan is better than Brees?

Gotta admit that Ryan has been named ahead of Drew Brees in the Pro Bowl the 2 outta the last 3 years. So thats the way it should be.

This is not a good thing for Ryan or your Atlanta Falcons.

But don't let me stop you.

I hope the next time you have to go #2, your foot is asleep, and you forget your phone and there's nothing interesting to read in the bathroom, and things are slow going at first, and just as things get going, there's a knock on the door, and they don't stop knocking.

That's all I wish.

Amen.

Not speaking about last year, which obviously would've been different had Brees been paired with Payton (you'd be a fool
to deny this), but overall body of work. Brees is still a better QB than Ryan, and has shown he can win big games.

There are 4 elite quarterbacks
Rodgers
Brady
Manning
Brees

That's it.

Ryan is not in there, and until he wins some big games... Until he takes the next step, he remains in the 5-10, very good quarterback range.

I agree with this 100%. I just was saying, last year, Ryan was better than Brees. Overall body of work, Brees wins hands down.

ETA: AmosMosesAndTwins - I wish I found facts as funny as you. I'd crack myself up all day with shite like... 2+2=4 and stuff. It'd be a blast.

And I'm not a Ryan hater fwiw. I think the dude can play, and the Falcons are lucky to have the guy. Will he be elite some day? No idea, but he has a chance. He just has to win the big games.

My question for you, and any other Falcon fans; How much slack does the fan base give him? Will they give him a season, 2 or how many before you guys would turn on him?

Well, for me... he's got this year and 1 more, maybe 2. His window is basically 1-3 years. Anything after that and the team is probably not going to be as good as it is now.
I'll start saying "We can't win a SB with Ryan" in 2 years... maybe 3 if we make it there and happen to lose or something.

Brees: 43/19/5,177
Ryan: 32/14/4,719

But I'm sure whatever "fact" you're using is so factual, in a factual sort of way.

Falcons fans are insufferable.

Amos - read what he said - he said Brees overall is better. i understand he is a falcons fan, but seriously - he agreed with Coco.

the Saints have some insufferable fans as well - all teams do.

Since I did not see "the list" - I have questions:
A) Is it for predictions for the 2013 season?
B) Is it a list of 1 persons opinion and from last season?
C) Is it a list ranking QBs over their entire body of work?

Depending on the answer to these questions, that would clearly impact "the list" and where QBs are on it. Regardless, Brees and Ryan are both damn good QBs.

The thread was made in reference to the NFL Top 100, I believe.

Voting criteria is very unclear - some vote career, some vote year, some vote potential - it's a mess. Basically, what I take from it, is you rank them in an order like you would draft them, if you were drafting a team.

It is voted on solely by current NFL players.

Again, the criteria is very undefined. Some will argue that Big Ben has Superbowls, so he should be higher than RGIII, while others will say RGIII's extreme talent should put him higher.

Absolutely agree, 100% - Ryan is a phenomenal QB. I recognize his greatness, I just disagree that he had the better year, or that he should be ranked higher. If I was drafting a team, I would draft Brees over Ryan.

ETA: Sorry for the wall of text, it's just very rare that I feel this right.

I just don't understand the perogative of Falcons fans that come on a Louisiana-based site to skip over things they don't want to acknowledge and instigate, despite their teams' underachievements.
