These 2 guys have become ingrained in our head as the two top choices for the Pels in the draft. Most mocks have or had us taking 1 or the other at some point.

However, there is a chance these two could be off the board with the first 2 picks in the draft. There are heavy rumors that CLE likes Len a lot and of course Burke has been rumored off and on to ORL since the onset.

Now lets circle the Pelican talk wagon... Months ago, we had some good discussions on guys like Porter, Noel, Oladipo, and McClemore. They seem to be long forgotten.

So what about these guys now? Porter obviously makes the most sense considering our needs. But it seems many people have warmed up to the idea of adding depth (see trey burke). Are guys like Dipo and McClemore still welcomed additions? What about Noel? He wouldn't need to be on the floor right away considering our depth at the center spot.

I know Burke and Len are good players. But is anyone else with me in hoping they go before we pick, enabling one of these other guys to drop?

McLemore would be a welcome addition because we need scorers and, with Gordon as fragile as he's been, we may need a spot starter.

Oladipo would depend on what we think about his offensive development and whether he would be a 2 or a 3 at the next level. I'm thinking he'd be a defensive 2 along the lines of a Tony Allen or Avery Bradley.

Porter's an obvious fit because we have jackshit at the 3.

I'm more torn on Noel. Good defensive presence but does he project as a 4 or a 5 at the next level? Also, what is the best guess on his offensive potential?

If he's a Ben Wallace who is great on defense and can't shoot for shite, we need to make sure that we're getting great production out of the other four guys on the court.

If Burke and Len are picked, that means players that I consider to be better prospects (better than Burke, at least) fell. I'd be pretty happy.

McLemore would obviously be first before anyone else. He falls we absolutely run to the podium. He has the most star potential, in my mind, of any player in the draft.

After that Porter because of need. I don't find him to be overly great at anything, but he could be one of those players that is just good at everything but great at nothing. Every team needs that.

Then I guess its Noel. Guy has superb athletic talent. But the knee injury, his availability and the fit next to Davis all leave me with question marks. Total boom or bust. But I would still take him.

Oladipo I'm not interested in.

I'd rather oladipo. I think Noel will struggle in the NBA

Pretty sure Noel is a 5 all the way. 6'11 3/4" so he'll grow to be a legit 7'. Apparently he was close to 230 Pre injury and lost a ton of weight after surgery. I read he's already gained 10 lbs since the combine. I think not rushing him would allow him to heel fully and also add more weight.

As for offensively, I think he could score 10 PPG easily on oops and put backs alone. shite Birdman averaged 8 PPG with the Hornets playing 20 mpg

He was 218 as of last week.

I'm just not sure of the knee and the fit next to Davis. He's not my favorite target but I certainly wouldn't be upset.

I'll be doing cartwheels if Len and Burke are taken in the top 5.

I don't see how you can pass on Noel. He's got mega-potential. Like you said, 230lbs pre-injury. People forget these kids are 18-19 years old and still have plenty of room to fill-out. Heck, Dwight Howard has put on 25 lbs since he was drafted.

Given the choice of those 3, I'd have to rank:

1- Noel (based on need for Center)
2- McLemore
3- Porter

I'm not a huge fan of Burke (would rather CJ) and just not sold on Len.

I dont particularly care whom they pick at 6.

Any of those guys- w/ perhaps the exception of Bennett- seem like good fits. I'm still hoping they get a second pick somewhere- 1st, 2nd, whatever. They need talent everywhere.

I'll be happy when this week is over and we can move on to over analyzing summer league.

The only thing I am 100% certain of is that Noel will be off the board by the time we pick...that means that one of McLemore, Porter, Burke, Len, or Dipo will still be around

No single player in this draft is going to put us over the hump and into the playoffs next year...we need help everywhere and each one of these players can help the Pels in one way or another

Its conceivable to me that we could see any of these players in an All-Star game but its also conceivable that any of these players end up being just rotational players

its kind of a crap shoot especially this year...99 times out of 100 I go with BPA this year may be that one time I go with fit over BPA

If the Pelicans end up with either Oladipo or Noel, I would give them an A for the draft. Would be extremely happy.

If Orlando takes Burke, I will be one happy Pelican fan. Any of those 4 are fap worthy, IMO. I don't see any way Mclemore falls that far. But if he does, you take him immediately.

I'd take Bazz before Noel, btw.

I'm not sure. I got McClemore and Bennett as the only sure things off the board. If Noel doesn't go 1 he's going to drop imo

What makes him a sure thing off the board? Just curious if I missed someone saying they were in love with him.

He's a stretch 4 with crazy upside, despite lacking size... his wingspan makes up for that, though.

I really think that the top 3 careers, in order, will be 1) Olidipo, 2) Porter, 3) McLemore. So I'm really happy that it looks more and more likely that one of the three will be there, though I'm worried that we may pass on Dipo.

Oh, you consider shoes part of someone's height. Screw it. I'm 6'2.

Nobody is, but your height does not include shoes. A girl wearing 3 inch heels isn't suddenly 5'6. She's 5'3" and wearing 3" heels. Apples to apples.

Only you would make an argument out of this.

Why do they measure them with and without shoes if it's not relevant?
