Skip is at-worst top 3 coaches of all time. The only coach I would consider being better and having a bigger impact on the game is Ron Fraser, coach of the Miami Hurricanes from 1963 to 1992. Skip has a slightly better resume then him but what he did for college baseball can't be matched by any coach that will ever coach the game again.

I think Skip Bertman and Ron Fraser are the two greatest Coaches in college baseball of all time.

Keep in mind Skip was an assistant under Fraser before coming to LSU. I'm not an expert on LSU baseball history but Ron Fraser could be partially responsible for who LSU is today in baseball.

I was making fun of you for commenting that Tanner is the best when he is retired. So, I threw Skip into the conversation.

so your saying we should base CPMs job on how he compares to how Skip Bertman did?

lets say in the next 10 years CPM wins 2 championships, we should fire him because he didn't win 5?

if CPM could win a championship one out of every five years he would be considered a great coach.

I'm saying CPM needs to stay in the realm of Skip.

He has been at LSU 7 years, and I made the comment that if he won in the next 3 years he would be good to go. 7+3=10, 2/10= Every 5 years.

So myself asking for 2 'ships every decade, seems about LSU's standards for baseball. This is not a normal program with normal standards.

And I am by no means giving ultimatums to CPM, like he gives a crap what I think, I'm just giving an opinion on a message board.

Paul M. might as well retire, when he didn't send Laird with 2nd open in the 8th?, I knew he was in over his head. And not bunting in the 9th of the previous game, I don't think he is very smart when the chips are down.

Ray Tanner has not won in years till he started winning. with this fan base, he would have gone before he won

Not to bash, but too many bad west finishes sandwiched around 2009 team. Too poor a showings in Omaha during CPM regime, despite this team playing what I felt all season long was way above their heads, and achieving a much greater sum than the individual parts projected.

Until last year, Ray Tanner was the best HC, today it may be a 10-way-tie? I'd lean towards George Horton's resume and building of Oregon, then in no set order, Corbin, Casey, Cohen, Fox, Mainieri, etc..

Garrido and Graham and Martin may be sticking around a tad too long?

LSU lore and Box attendance can play their part with the first two you list..

This I'd like to be at least 4 for 7 or better, but can live with say 3 of 7..if with better showings than a 1-4 W-L mark sans the title team..and the two poor West finishes.
