and tune everything else out?

Growing up I hated country and liked only the billboard type crap. I listened to rap as well. Now I hate all of it and only listen to country.

I stopped listening to sports radio as well. Is this just a me thing or do others have such radical shifts?

35 btw

Growing up (70's) all I listened to was hard rock (now called classic rock) .. then Jimmy Buffet, then alternative / outlaw county.

Now I can tolerate about 1/2 of the Nashville pop sound. Perhaps Winston Churchill nailed it best:

quote:

“If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.”

Then again, perhaps the Churchill quote has nothing to do with the OP .. although one could believe that different musical genres, in general, represent different values (please, I don't mean to get all poli-board on this).

Luke bryan (shake it) is positively nothing more than a pop dance song with a banjo, Luke Bryan commands country girls to “shake it” for the birds, the bees, for the crickets and the critters and the catfish swimming down deep in the creek, for the gerbils crawling way up his rectum to massage his prostate…

oh wait, he left that line out, but you get the point.

This song is like a frozen sledge hammer to the balls of anybody who has any sort of musical taste or dignity.

Probably just maturing and appreciating a whole different style of music.

Can't really say. The brain is a complicated thing

And to echo theDoc...Luke Bryan is shite whipped into a pair of designer jeans and bedazzled cowboy boots

I just can't stand how it sounds....too much drawl in most of it, imo. Just my $0.02.

However, the festivities/parties that take place during the CMA's are a legit experience.

A few years ago, all I listened to was Merle Haggard, Jr, George Jones, David Allan Coe, etc. I rarely listen to that now.

Well there is a lot of bad country music. That's for sure.
