So, supposedly Chris Paul and Dwight want to team together. Would it be possible for them to land here together and get rid of Eric Gordon?

Chris Paul and Dwight Howard have been in consistent contact recently about the possibility of becoming teammates next season, according to league sources.

..."They would love to play together if somebody can make it happen," one of the sources said.

The Atlanta Hawks could make it happen. Atlanta, which is Howard's hometown, has the cap room to sign both players to maximum-salaried contracts.

Howard is not particularly fond of the idea of returning to Atlanta, but he would do so to team up with Paul, the sources said.

...The preference for both players would be to play together for the Clippers, according to the sources. Because the Clippers don't have enough cap room to sign Howard as a free agent, it would take a sign-and-trade deal with the Lakers to make it happen.

...But while trading Howard to a team in their own building seems unthinkable, the Lakers are not likely to get a better trade package elsewhere than say, Blake Griffin and Eric Bledsoe.

If Howard is going to leave, that is probably the best case scenerio for the LAL.

As to the OP. No chance anyhow or anyway that we get Howard and/or CP3 this year.

What happened to CP3 wanting to team up with Melo? Can the NYK trade some peices away to get room for CP3?

I thought since the Clippers are over the cap, they couldn't do a sign and trade.

I believe that is just for teams 4 million or more over the luxury tax.

That team is no better than the one they have now. Worse, even. They're going to be paying Jordan $10m to be a backup.

If Dwight is at full strength, that team is definitely better.

They will probably be able to unload Jordan. NBA teams don't make the best decisions when it comes to big men.

If I am the Lakers I do this in a heartbeat.

ETA: Kobe is gonna be back. Probably rehabbing 16 hours per day. Kobe/Griffin/Bledsoe is a nice core.

Its not going to happen, but could you imagine a healthy lineup of CP3, Gordon, Anthony Davis, and Dwight Howard?

Gordon probably makes too much for that to even be a possibly I would imagine though.
