@GrantWahl: RT @pkedit Huge break for USMNT. Both Honduran CBs are out Tuesday: Muma Bernárdez is suspended; Maynor Figueroa is injured.

@BrianSciaretta: Things seem to be falling apart for Honduras ahead of the #usmnt game. Jerry Bengtson is not with the team & Oscar Boniek Garcia is injured

The US has been fortunate in this stretch. Jamaica is a disaster, Panama was without their best (only?) goal scorer, and Honduras will be without their best player.

Let's hope Mexico's poor form continues through September.

yep. don't know much about those CBs, but Bengston has been a terror for us the last few outings.

USA should cruise on Tuesday, hopefully we can build on that Panama performance.

We can also say these teams are fortunate that they are facing us without Landon and with a very young back 4.

I love LD, I wish he was with the team, BUT I think a strong argument could be made for Zusi being the better option right now. Altidore needs crosses to score goals, Zusi's entire game, with the national team, has been predicated on getting to the corner and putting balls in the 18. Landon's much more prone to cutting inside and trying to play through the top of the box. That style of attack doesn't suit Dempey or Young Josmer.

I have been very pleased with the Zusi-Altidore connection.

Considering how little I know about their team, the fact that I recognize 3 of those names is pretty telling. Hopefully we smell blood in the water and really go for a decisive victory.

Prior to this three game stretch I thought there was a stat floating around that said jozy scores a lot more often with landon on the pitch

that's probably true, I also think that can be attributed to us not having decent wing play prior to the emergence of Zusi and Fab.

Let me preface this by saying, if I was the coach, I would start LD at RW. Just pointing out that Zusi is exactly what Josmer needs to score goals right now. He's been putting balls on a silver platter.

I have loved Zusi's play as well just saying that we have been without the best American soccer player ever during this round of qualifying.

With LD, Jozy might not get as many crosses into the box but I think Jozy's hold up play paired with forward runs by LD can be a new dynamic going forward

Yeah, how many times has Jozy played without LD on the field? Can't be very many times...sounds like a really twisted stat.

Obviously he's not played with him much under Jurgen.
