Moved in our new house in November and had centipede sod put down. I have empty lots on both sides of me that look like they have mostly carpet grass, crab grass and a few splotches of Bermuda. It looks like some of this is encroaching upon my yard. I put out weed and feed in late Feb and turfbuilder in may. What can I do to keep these other grasses out of my yard? Would over seeding with centimeter help?

Keep yours fertilized, with weed killer, and you should be okay. The idea is to keep your lawn healthy, and it will smother out the unwanted weeds.

I would suggest killing the grass along your property line with Roundup or some other herbicide. Once you get Bermuda in a Centipede lawn, it is hard to get rid of. I am speaking from experience. I have found a product that will kill the Bermuda and not kill the Centipede. It is called Over The Top. I have purchased this product at Clegg's Nursery in Baton Rouge.

That's what I was going to recommend also.

This isn't a racial euphemism, is it?

It will kill broad leaf plants, not grass. Will also kill wife's flowers and maybe even neighbor's so be careful.

Are you sure Over the Top does not kill Centipede? I think it might. There is a product called "vantage" that will kill the bermuda and not the centipede. But it does knock down the centipede a bit.

Create another separate yard that is just as nice as your yard and tell this "other" grass to go and grow there.
