Here's a new CWS wallpaper I just made for myself. It's a 1600 x 1200 resolution (4:3 aspect ratio).

Not too many people remember that those two guys laying face down in the dirt were longtime major leaguers -- Pat Burrell and Alex Cora.
I think most people remember this actually

I cannot wait for this to start. I forget how many LSU teams have come back in the last two innings. I was worried about this team, but they seem to be playing their best baseball right now! I really think Ok series was a statement for this team.

What happened to Laxton after 1993? I heard he had elbow or shoulder problems. I hope the 136 pitches he threw against W St didnt hurt him.

What a from the gut call by Skip in the 2000 game. Bottom of the ninth, just scored two to tie it at five, runners on 1st and 2nd, no one out, a 1-12 Brad Cresse up. Skip has a word with Cresse before the at bat, reiterating the "You can do this, take your time, lay down a good one" thoughts already in Stanford's head. Somehow, I dont think that is what Skip said.

All amazing games, and of course it can't get any better than 96. But that 2000 squad frickin' willed themselves to that win. They looked beaten when it was 5-2 late, and the comeback was epic.

I don't think it's shown on the clip provided, but after we tied the game late Hodges came in and mowed 'em down, before we ultimately got the walk off hit. Some huge guy for Stanford fanned for strike 3, and he slammed his bat to the ground, and yelled at Hodges as if "I can't frickin' believe this"! They were smart asses early when leading (acted like the win was a gimme, and their little gay clapping routines on the top of the steps), and seeing them lose their cool made me feel the win was highly likely.

Great times. Here's to new great times this year!
