Aint it Cool News

quote:

MAN OF STEEL is the Superman movie we have been waiting for. Full of action, emotion, and spectacle, this is Zack Snyder’s finest work so far, and I prefer David Goyer’s work here to his work on Nolan’s Batman films. This was the harder job, by far – to make Superman relevant again, and to give him life beyond the page. It is true to the comics, to the films, to everything we love about this character.

t aches for more depth and warmth and humour, but this is spectacular sci-fi — huge, operatic, melodramatic, impressive. It feels the right Superman origin story for our era, and teases what would be a welcome new superfranchise.

frick.

I can't wait to start the official discussion and spoliers thread a day early Wednesday. It's going to have a shite ton of links, quotes, reviews, and some gifs.

Here's a couple for a teaser.....

I want to go into a cave until June 27th. I actually might not visit this board until then.

Reading the negative reviews it seems like they are hating on it for being too much like a blockbuster and too much action? Wtf

Huge sigh of relief reading these initial reviews(14 positive 3 negative as I'm typing this.) Just happy to see it's not getting panned and should be a crowd pleaser that will take in enough box office to launch a new franchise.

Going to see MOS Friday. My concern about whether it would be great or not ended quite awhile back. Glad to see I was right.

Tradition w/ my 12 y/o son. (HP8, TDKR, now MOS). Likes doing the midnight show for one summer blockbuster each year.

Plus, BR's Imax does not have 7 PM release on Thursday and this flick screams for IMAX.

Man of Steel tracking lower than Superman Returns.

76 to 70 on rotten tomatoes.
72 to 63 on metacritic.

The few bad reviews I read said it had too much action, was too much like batman begins, and should have taken more cues from superman returns.
