Last night, does anyone recall what type of pitches LSU hit in the 8th?

I can't remember if they hit his off speed stuff which he was throwing all night or did he start going to the fastball and the Tigers caught up with it?

JaCoby drilled a middle-in fastball. Moore hit the slider; almost golfed it.

Did yall think Gray was getting tired or losing something or do you think it was just a matter of adjusting or taking advantage of a couple of mistakes?

MOAR dug to China and got a slider.

Think Swaggasaurus Rex got a high fastball

ETA: guess it was middle in. I just know it was a fastball

I think it was adjustment. The one to Moore in particular was a pretty good pitch, a slider down around the knees. It was some good hitting by him to connect with that pitch in his first at bat against Gray.

What in the hell were they thinking throwing a middle in fastball on a 0-2 count to Jones? Gray was destroying people with the slider all night. Jones of all people should never see a fastball. Breaking ball away has given him problems forever. Good thing OU had a bad scouting report.

Left handed batters like inside corner down at the knees. I was surprised Gray went there.

The middle in was a mistake.. He wanted it down(way down) looking for jones to chase.. Then he was probably going to comeback with that nasty slider. He left it up and jones was able to get some good bat on it.. Was really a very good adj by jones because it wasn't a horrible pitch still being in on his hands

Agreed, I personally would never show Jones a fastball in the zone on a 0-2 count. He is a great athlete who has problems with pitches running away from him. They did Jones a favor and he broke it off in their arse.

I think it was more of the players feeling out Gray.

As other's said, JJ got lucky on Gray's bad pitch and Moore called "fourrrrrr" and made good contact with an extremely low and in pitch.

In a postgame interview, Moore stated that he was studying Gray's tendencies all game. Did that give him an advantage? Maybe so, but he got lucky with the quality of contact he made on that low pitch.

He didn't mean to throw it there

If true, OU made two mistakes on one pitch.

Obviously NOLA was fantastic. What composure to manage the moment. Gray is going to be hell on wheels in MLB.

He was at 110 pitches entering the 8th and they had people in the bullpen to start the inning. Some of it was adjustments, but he wasn't as sharp either and their staff knew he was reaching the end.

Jones hit fastball, other hit slider or change-up.
