The TV guys kept mentioning 100 mph. The fastest I saw on the TV screen was 96. Did anyone see one posted faster than 96?

He hit 98 once, late in the game too.

That may have been a slower gun. Nola wasn't throwing as hard as I'd expected either.

I think the ESPN gun was a touch slow. It was located very high in the stands. He hit 98 several times throughout the night.

All a guy has to do is hit 100 a couple times in his career and everyone especially announcers will say "this guy throws 100"

The guy pretty effortlessly hit 96 on a regular basis

Yeah, as everyone has said, he hit 98 last night. I do think too that the radar gun was a bit off later in the game because the speeds dropped by odd amounts. I don't remember Nola throwing 86-88 as his fastball very often this year. I could be wrong, but the radar gun wasn't very flattering to either pitcher last night.

Well, it's true. If he hits 200, then "this guy throws 200"

Nola doesn't throw all that hard, just has great location.

That's what I was thinking. Nola was barely hitting 90

Which is true. Just not necessarily on a consistent basis.

When people ask how hard you throw, do you mention the average speed? I sure as hell don't.

That's what impressed me most about him... The ease of his delivery. Really almost looked like he was playing soft toss, but hurling mid-90's with ease.

Nola hit 92 at least twice according to the announcers, I wasn't watching that closely

wasn't Nola supposed to be touching 94 this year and sitting at 91ish? He was 87-88 the whole night from what i saw.

Nola looked to be throwing harder than he was. I thought maybe the gun was slow then Gray hit 96
