I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your arse was such a disappointing album, except the first track.

Yo La Tengo is no doubt a step above pretty much anybody out there, however their stuff from the 80's/early 90's is their best IMO.

I liked it. I think I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One is easily their best though.

I am partial to their longer songs and the liquid guitar, I guess that's where my interests with YLT/Pavement/GBV intersect.

Their first 3 albums, and May I Sing With Thee are my favorites.

Most people would probably recognize this from one of the more recent samples:

"Soul Food" by Tuff Crew (1989)[4]
"Justa Lil' Dope" by Masters at Work (1991)

"Back against the Wall" by Three Six Mafia (1995)
"Rump Shaker by Wreckx-n-Effect (1992)[15]
"You Can't See What I See" by Heavy D & the Boyz (1996)
"Freestyle Noize" by Freestylers (1998)
"Mad Love" by Britney Spears (2001)
"Show Me What You Got" by Jay-Z (2006)[16]
