Standing Room Only - should I buy the tickets?

Have the option to buy two standing room only tickets for the wife and I this weekend. I've never had standing room only before so is it worth it, for those who have done this?
I'd think I would have to get there very early to claim our spot, is that true? If The wife or I leave for the concession stand or bathroom, will we lose our spot or will the wonderful LSU fans throw a fit and not let us back in our spots?

Standing sucks, but at least you're under the grand stand, so you'll have a great view. If you're not fat I dont see the big deal

If you got there early and got a spot along the rails under the overhang then it wouldn't be bad. And of course you can't save your spot.
