O'k so my son is starting to get into my gamimg world. He has a Wii, but loves the xbox, he has Disney Connect and some sports games. He absolutely loves trading off with me back in forth in rpg style games, he'd never trade back if he could read better
Anyhow his favorites are Divinity 2 and Kingdoms of Amalur(his favorite), due to sword play and graphics, he's a fantasy kid.
Any other suggestions of games we could play together?
I've considered starting the Fable series from scratch...

fable 2 is pretty fun and easy, but has some mature themes. i think they could be avoided though.
i loved fable 2. kept me interested as an adult but definately has enough sword play and magic to keep a 5 year old entertained for hours id imagine.

How about I know how to parent. He plays soccer, has learning station in his room as well as play room, and loves baseball and gardening. Plenty of cognitive as well as physical activities. This is another creative way of father son time that he enjoys.
It amazes me how one would want interject themselves into a thread with a simple question. Pure ignorance. Answer the question or move along.

Some suggestions:

- Castle Crashers
(as SG_Geaux mentioned)

- Bastion

- Minecraft
(If you've got 2 decent PC's, you can even play this one with him. I'm dying to do this with my son once he's older.)

- Beyond Good & Evil HD

- Dust: An Elysian Tail

- Torchlight (maybe?)

Sports games are generally very good for pickup and play. I'd also recommend platformers for the same reason. While there aren't very good ones for younger ages on 360, you do have the 2D mario titles on Wii.

True, options for platformers are limited on the 360 but "Rayman Origins" is pretty awesome from what I hear. Also, it's 2 player so you can teach him how to be a man while you play video games with him.

2 birds, one stone.

You've got all kinds of options on Wii, but I'd start with New Super Mario Bros Wii or Kirby's Epic Yarn if you are going that route.

Fables an awesome series. If he can stand a downgrade in graphics I would buy the first fable. It was easily the best

Good choice as is the new one.

Haven't played Kirby, so I wasn't going to throw it in. It's similar though.

Thanks. Seems Castle Crashers has been mentioned a bit. Seems I've read about it in a good light somehwere else too.
He's also not too far away from being able to play the Zelda wii games as well as he gets better at puzzles. He has freakish pattern recognition skills.
I have all of the Fables (including the Lost Chapters), but may hold off on them till the original remake comes, to start right...

It's like Double Dragon or TMNT Arcade, but you can level up your character and get new weapons, etc. Mindless but fun.

Beyond Good & Evil HD has a lot of similarities to Zelda games, so that's an option if he doesn't feel like doing a whole lot of Wii remote "waggling." It's more of a sci-fi fantasy game than true fantasy, though.

Ah, I may look into those. He's not a big fan of his Wii... he'd much rather tie up my Xbox

I do look forward to the day I can watch him mow through Ocarina using his classic remote for Wii
