Can the captain get a ticket for taking people fishing without a license?

Have a couple cheapskates coming this w/e and I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't get a license.

In GA captains/guides can buy a coverage licence. That way everybody in the boat is covered. Not sure of the cost, though. IDK if LA does the same.

I doubt it. Would be like ticketing the owner of the vehicle for speeding even if he was in the passenger seat and a friend driving.

I told them they needed to get licenses. I shouldn't have to make them show me( we are adults). TBH if I am not able to be ticketed I will be happy to see LDWF

Yeh it just worries me if we have 4 limits and only 2 are legal.

You're not a charter captain, are you? If not, you'd probably be okay as long as your fish are within your presumed limits

Honestly, as long as you're just buddies fishing, green jeans would have to be a real arse to bust you. I know they can get a bad rap, but most of them are outdoorsmen like the rest of us. Just be sure to act really pissed at your friends if it does happen.
