What did you think of the first book?
Thinking about getting that as a birthday present and I was just wondering if it was any good and also if I need to read the first book before the second.
Thanks

Both books are good toilet reading material. You can read them in any order.

If you don't read the first before the second you are going to be so fricking confused. They are going to be all like trout this and trout that and you are going to be like whoa whoa whoa who the frick is trout?

I emailed out a pdf copy of the 1st one awhile back. I'm sure someone here still has it. I'm offshore right now & it's too big to upload from out here...

I learned that I catch small trout and that I don't fish nearly as much as some people.

I enjoyed the book. Like another poster said, I learned I don't fish enough and I catch small trout. However, it's still a good read even for the average weekend warrior like myself.

Should be in book stores, but you can order it and sometimes the author will set up at CCA banquets.

I have them both. I was a trout watcher.......they both have some real nuggets mixed in with the yada yada. If you like catching or reading about catching trout you will enjoy them both.

From the second one, almost every guide recommended a stealth approach to the spot. The first cast gets the biggest trout. I can't tell you how many first ones I have lost to line breaking or hooks pulling out.

From the first one, Croaker bomb!
