Wife got a 6 qt cuisinart pressure cooker from work. Didn't have time to smoke anything so I decided to give it a whirl on Memorial Day.
Cooked the ribs for 2 minutes on each side on the grill with some smoldering cherry wood chips. Transferred to pressure cooker and set on high pressure for 10 minutes. Quick released the pressure and coated with sweet baby rays. Finished on the grill, two minutes on each side. They came out almost as good as if they smoked for hours.

Pretty impressed with the pressure cooker so far. Would love any tips you have from using one.

I don't use mine nearly enough. I do make some kickass green beans in it though.

I've seen a bunch of vegetable recipes and really have no clue where to start. I was thinking about trying some sweet potato recipes next. It'll definitely be a learning/Pinterest experience to begin.

So you're saying you cooked some country style ribs in 18 minutes? Interdasting...

Doesn't seem like there'd be much of a smoke flavor after only 8 minutes on the grill.

Yes. Very. I was extremely intrigued by the cook times in the recipe book that came with it.

2.5 pound brisket in 50 minutes. Thinking about trying this with some smoked kosher salt to give it a true smoked flavor.

Whole chicken up to 4 pounds in 28 minutes. Found a recipe online for beer can chicken in the pressure cooker.

Here's the meat cook times that came with it:

There was a hint of smoke but not as much as smoking it for hours. I have some smoked kosher, as mentioned in the post above, that I want to try to use next time.

Guess I was really referring to the tenderness. It's not a 100% substitute but did the job in a short amount of time.

I highly recommend a good smoked paprika to add a a great smoked flavor. Not any cheap store brand, but a legit smoked paprika.

Good idea. Any specific brand I should look for or should I check out whole foods and buy something expensive?

Can I mix it with my injection marinade?

My wife cooks ten minute red beans in hers and you can't tell the difference between hers and mine that have cooked for several hours. But I just like to smell them for several hours.

They are great things and make a great pot roast but be careful, you can be peeling roast beef off your ceiling.

I got an electric Pressure Cooker a few months back. It does everything I want it to: Steams, Browns, Slow Cooks; makes great Rice, Beans, Soups, Roasts, etc. I gave my Slow Cooker away . . .

I can't recall the brand I use, I'll look when I get home. It's in a little glass jar.

I think it would work better as a rub, but I don't see why you can't use it in your injected marinade. Taste a bit of it, and you'll see what i mean about adding a 'smokiness.'

Gris Gris will back me up on this one, if she pops in here.

My dad blew a coon all over my moms kitchen when I was a kid. I remember it being a very bad deal..

Dude, lay off the bottle, last time you said 45 minute red beans.

But seriously though, pressure cooker is a legit time saving tool, and purchased mine 6 months before the Boston Marathon.

Not being insensitive, just trying not to get profiled.

Try this recipe from modernist cuizine. And you can do it without the centrifuge.
