Fresh rumbles Wolves looking at hiring Hornets' Tim Connelly or Wizards' Milt Newton for new front office. Flip Saunders worked w/both w/Wiz

Pursuant to last tweet: That's Tim Connelly of the New Orleans PELICANS! Name change right after season seems to be a curveball I can't hit

There's not much on Connelly outside of the press release from when he was hired, but doesn't sound like a guy we'd want to lose. His biggest area of expertise seems to be international scouting and he helped find Brian Roberts.

quote:

As fate would have it, Brose’s head coach, Chris Fleming, who is from Richmond, Va., is a good friend of Connelly. Fleming gave a good recommendation, and Connelly contacted Roberts about playing on the Hornets’ summer league team.

“I talked to Brian directly; he was without an agent,” Connelly said. “I kind of explained to him the opportunity, and he took a chance on himself. He turned down a lot of money” that he would have gotten had he stayed in Germany.

Flip Saunders' new title is President of Basketball Ops so I assume they would be promoting Connelly to GM and he'll leave if offered.
