T @RapSheet: Today's JaMarcus Russell update: He's down to 265 pounds. He began his latest comeback at 315. Still work to be done.

He's rolling over on the curve balls. He just needs to keep his hands inside the baseball and the hits will start falling again.

Serious question:

I wonder how hard JRock could throw a baseball with a month of two of training from a good pitching coach?

He can throw a damn football the length of the field, I'd imagine he can easily hit mid-90's with a fastball. His motion would be so long though that I think batters would tee off on it.

He could take a knee at home plate and throw a ball over the outfield fence.

He could probably hand the ball to the catcher from 60 ft away.

I know baseball season is really heating up with the regionals starting. However, is this really necessary? It isn't like it is another thread asking who gets to wear number 18.

I know he isn't a current player, but there are people on the rant that care to hear this story.

This guy is sooooooo talented he could be a two-sport star IF he would get serious.

He stinks at his main sport and you act like with 2 months of training he is major league material.

The Rant is funny as shite.

Baseball is on the cusp of greatness. Every thread on the first page is baseball. This guy throws out a Jamarcus thread...

I think that's what prompted the backlash. I mean, come on.

A. He does not stink at his main sport. He was one of the best QBs LSU has ever had and was drafted #1 in the NFL. He got screwed with a shitty franchise that exacerbated his lazy tendencies. He wasn't even THAT bad in the pros in his limited action.

B. I don't think he is major league material at all. Never said that. You made it up. There are thousands of people that can throw a baseball in the 90s that aren't major league material. Jamarcus has arguably the strongest arm the sport of football has ever seen. Sorry for being curious about how hard he could throw if a pitching coach taught him how to wind up and properly pitch.

C. frick you, nanny nanny boo boo.

Oh, JR is not to blame. Why didn't any team give him a tryout since? Mainly because he stunk.

Oh, but you implied. Very much so. Dude couldn't hit a strike zone at all. ML batters couldn't tee off on him because they would be too busy ducking and dodging his pitches. But hey! He can throw it 95.
