I cant remember. I remember A&M was loaded that year. Had their best shot at winning in Omaha they have had before or since. LSU went in and won.

Even if no footage - how did that go down. I just cant remember.

I haven't found footage yet, but here's a recap:

LSU cruised by Long Beach State in its opening game of the College World Series, setting up a premier matchup with top-seeded Texas A&M. The Aggies jumped out to an early 7-2 lead.

However, the Tigers erased the deficit and grabbed a lead of their own capped by Armando Rios' RBI single in the eighth. LSU held a 9-8 advantage in the frame when Walker stepped to the plate with the bases loaded against A&M ace reliever Chris Clemons.

Walker, who was still looking for his first hit of the CWS, launched perhaps the most memorable homer of the tournament with a grand slam that carried beyond the left-center field wall to give the Tigers the lead for good at 13-8.

As he rounded the bases and touched third, he pointed to the stands to his father, which remains a moment Walker says he will never forget.

"It was one of the biggest moments for me," Walker said. "My dad doesn't really get into a lot of sports, so to see him react like he did was special."

Thanks for the info - that is awesome. For some reason I thought that had happened in a College Station Regional.

Isnt there a run LSU made to the NC that started by upsetting A&M at the College station Regional?

Or am I just mixed up.

The win at College Station was a big upset but didn't result in a national title.

You are confusing 2 different events from 1989 & 1993.

EDIT: Also, there is a 17-minute video news clip from WAFB, " The Day that Defined LSU Baseball," that was put together just this month about that 1989 double header, and was the subject of another thread.

EDIT2: Here are the 1993 LSU CWS Highlights courtesy of Amadeo.

Thanks guys. I did have them mixed up. So how did lsu do in that CWS that year? It seems to me we damn near win every time we go to the CWS which as you all know in baseball is crazy. The success Skip and then PM vs. Texas is un freaking believable.

Thats a good question - what is our times in Omaha vs. winning it all in Omaha?

Also if memory serves, they had to beat a&m twice on Sunday in that regional to advance to their first CWS.

I think so. and I had Walkers GS HR in my mind there. I am wondering if those games were dramatic come backs.

Also that was the first CWS for LSU? How did we do? Anyone remember back then.

It was the 1989 regional at College Station. Tigers beat aTm 13-5 and 5-4 to advance to their 3rd CWS

I believe this was in the 1989 College Station Regional which LSU was sent to.
A&M was 55-5 or 56-5 (forget exactly) and ranked near the top if not #1, and LSU had to beat A&M TWICE to advance to Omaha, which they DID.
If I remember right, there was a kid from Chalmette named Garrity? I think who made a Regional-clinching great catch in right field in the final game that sent LSU to the CWS and 55-7 A&M home. I think he also had a couple of clutch hits.
If I remember he was a reserve and played a lot in those games for some reason.
We lost in the CWS in 1989 I believe to Fullerton but not sure....

The grand slam by Walker gave LSU an insurmountable 13-8 lead on Texas A&M in the 1993 CWS. I believe this was either a winner's bracket game or an elimination game for A&M.
