I hate this mentality that Buddy Songy has along with a lot of LSU fans, this tournament or game really doesn't hurt LSU. If you're a competitor then you want to win all games and they all count, I hate this sh!t that we REALLY don't have to win that's BS! That same jerkoff was excusing LSU's football record by reminding folks of the days of Charlie Mac, get over that sh!t man!

Winning gives a team confidence, you need confidence going into the next couple of rounds and the CWS.

That team was bad and got hot for 4 days and then had to go play a really really good UCLA team. Most times this system works.

1991 LSU losses to Florida in SEC Championship Wins title
1993 (strange division split tourney) Wins SEc tourney wins Title
1996 LSU goes 1-2 Wins title
1997 LSU goes to title Looses to Bama Wins title (by beating the crap out of bama)

years we made omaha but didn't win it all
1986 LSU won SEC tourney
1987 LSU lost to MSU in title
1989 LSU two and a BBQ
1990 split championship with MSU
1994 LSU wins Western Championship
1998 LSU 1-2

what it seems like when LSU makes does well in the tournament it usually translates to success in the post season. Every once and a while we will lay an egg come NCAA tourney time after winning the tournament (see 1992, 2010) and sometimes we win titles after only winning one game.

We seem to do better when winning the SEC title but not always.

It's all about the momentum that gets built from winning games in the SEC tournament.

Yeah, we understand in the GRAND scheme of things it doesn't matter. But I am a fan like I was a player, and I want to win it all. You think any of those kids are out there saying, hey guys lets just take it easy, these games don't matter? No, they aren't. So I won't either.
