...does anyone think we may move ahead of them in the national seeding? Does Vandy have #1 wrapped up?

I think if LSU sweeps through and wins the tournament, while Vandy goes 0-2, then there could be an argument (albeit a weak one). However, I don't think any team that had a great regular season should be penalized for what they did (or didn't do) in the conference tournament. IMO even if Vandy goes 0-2 they should still be the #1 overall seed. Likewise, even if LSU were to lose the next two games, they should still be no worse than the #4 national seed based on their great reg season.

theres no difference in a #1 national seed vs a #8. just be in the top 8.

Both teams are hosting a regional and will host a super regional if they win no matter the outcome of the SEC tournament. If anyone wishes to bet against that, I am taking bets.

If all 8 seeds end up in Omaha, won't the #1 be paired against #8? That could make a big difference.

1. Who the hell knows and it doesn't really matter.

2. Vandy's regular season was very Bama-esk as 2/10 series were against the two worst teams in the conference, neither of which LSU played. In their place, LSU had Arkansas and A&M. LSU got passed over in 2011 for MSU (Presumably) bc we played weak teams in comparison, although not our fault. Hopefully that's considered.

3. Vandy still did better than LSU vs. common opponents, but lost a few mid-week and OOC games where LSU did not. (LBSU opening weekend, @ Oregon)Fine. They also have losses @MTSU and Tenn Tech.

I thought that the regional hosts were only announced on Sunday with national seeds and the field being announced on Monday.

LSU would be 26-7 and Vandy would be 26-5 in conference
