I know they have the famous hill where you don't have to pay to see the games. Is it frowned upon if you're an opposing fan to sit there?

I think it would be cool to watch it from there cause it is kind of important historically.

I used to go to some when I was younger. First ever college football game I went to was CAL-USC. For the most part, I was always in the stadium, but used to go to the hill before just to see it. There were always SC and UCLA fans out there

Yea I plan to make it a 4 day weekend or so. I don't care about spending $ on a ticket, but think the hill is a cool college football thing

Yes, but have always been inside the stadium. Hit up Henry's ahead of the game if you are not bringing your own tailgate.

I went to the stadium last Fall during the week...that hill is way up there. Think beyond upper deck at any other CFB stadium.

Would people recommend going there before the game to just see it then going into the stadium for the game?

I saw something where they hate red b/c of USC/Stanford and I'm obviously going to be in red

I would go up there just for the hell of it, but actually go into Memorial Stadium for the game.

I thought it was hilarious when I was 8 years old that it was called Tightwad Hill

The greek theater next door is an amazing outside venue, ive seen some killer shows there. Ive parked next to the football stadium before, but never seen a game there.

I have not been to the new stadium, but have been to Strawberry Canyon (I believe that is where the stadium and hill are located) many times.

They used to have a beautiful view of the Bay area from the East side of the stadium. I don't know if it is still there (I would assume it would be).

Do yourself a favor, and even if that is the Cal sidelines, get a ticket facing west. Very memorable.
