I guess you are still using a persimmon head and balata? Balata too new for you? Maybe a gutta percha ball?

Those are all more traditional and certainly the sound of a well struck drive with a 'wood' is more dignified.

I'm not going to argue with you but I just don't view advancements in technology the same as holding the club the way it is meant to be held.

anchoring the putter takes out all the nerves in putting. Its pretty much put it on line with good speed and it drops. There are so many things that go into a regular putting stroke that is minimized when anchoring the putter

The ball is a bigger issue, but I'm okay with the rule.

Oh...you mean the baseball (hands seperated) grip. No? Overlapping? Interlocking?...Which one is the way it was meant to be held? The claw? LH low?

Sam Snead sometimes putted 'side-saddle' with one hand several inches down the shaft....

Don't get me wrong...I do not use an anchored putter...and I suffer from the yips...It has really affected my game...I just do not see the big deal...

I'm not sure everyone realizes this is not an equipment rule.

Gripping the club is still different imo. I don't care how you or anybody grips the club. I do care when somebody eliminates the challenge of being able to swing the club on an even plane by anchoring it to their body. You don't agree though and that's fine.

I see your and others points...I just do not see where ANYONE gains an advantage if ANYONE can use it.

Again,

frick. Hey, USGA why don't you let the driver hit the golf ball 500 yards but ban something that has no statistical evidence of making the game easier

agree with the ban. swinging the club is an essential part of the game.

This in only one man's problem.

Can we discuss flat bills in conjunction with the anchored putter issue.

Both are ruining the game.

IF it were a real edge, I think EVERY TOUR would be nothing but anchored putters.

it gives you an edge if you have the yips or a nervous stroke. not all tour players have this. tiger would not benefit from anchoring because he has a great stroke.

If you bought as many broom handles as threeputt, you'd be mad too bro.

Beat me to it. Putt you didn't just spend a bunch of money on a longer putter and start anchoring it did you?
