now that Marucci is a huge bat company, and is based out of BR with many LSU Baseball alumni working there; does anyone know why LSU doesn't have the Marucci contract for their bats? and why demarini?

I would imagine it comes down to, like everything else, money.

Those contracts are usually multiple year affairs. I would assume that if Marucci is able to offer LSU what they're looking for when the present contract ends, they will be in the running to provide bats to the team.

real simple ---$$$$$
Marucci does not hae the money to offer LSU like Easton or Demarini.

Speaking of Marucci bats, anyone know a place to get their wood bats for cheap?

good question but like everyone else says its the money. Cresse and co. don't have near the money to offer to the program that Demarini TPX or Easton doo

It is a conflict of interest. Marucci works for LSU.

With all the bats being the same pretty much because of BBCOR standards, Demarini paid LSU money to use their equipment. Also Marucci doesn't make fielding gloves or do not have a contract with a glove making company (Demarini & Wilson)

My sis-in-law runs their marketing...
Don't know how that helps, but thought I'd brag
ETA:
FWIW, shes a Nola native but a Bama grad

I thought the story going around last year was that the staff brought in every bat available on the market and THE TEAM chose Demarini based on the feel. Did I make this up??

Has nothing to do with it.

Not true from what I'm told.

Marucci just came out with fielding gloves. A few Major Leaugers are using them..

Well, this link must be part of some grand conspiracy because PM says those exact words.

You expect him to say they chose Demarini because of money?

Yes a few major leaguers are using them recently. Remember LSU signed their contract with DeMarini a couple years ago before Marucci developed their glove.

Thought I read somewhere that the Marucci bats didn't meet BBCOR standards?

The Cat 5 didn't but they fixed it after a month or so and rereleased them.
