Do any of you have a set budget that you allow yourself to spend on buying and trying craft beer?

I am not speaking towards alcoholism where you are buying a chit ton to get drunk, but rather purchasing craft brews for the flavors, experience, and enlightenment.

I find myself going through the FBD pages and thinking: Holy chit ( insert poster) must spend 25 dollars a night on these beers...

I may or may not have goten in a little heat from my wife a couple months ago for dropping a couple hundred dollars while in Houston buying beers i cant get back home...

If this has already been discussed.. I regret nothing.

My current monthly beer budget : 60 dollars.

Doesnt buy chit...

Yep. Don't want to know. It would probably be shockingly high.

this...

hard to say because some of the craft beer is bought in bars/restaurants as part of meals. i probably hit a big package store twice a month; maybe $100 dollars from those two trips.

i'm better off not thinking too hard about it..

I spend until my wife says stop. Actually, she likes IPAs and Belgians so she doesn't compain too much. It's when I come home with 3 bombers that cost $12 each and a Jester King Belgian Bottle that cost $16 that she says something.

I try not to pay attention to that. My happiness is in the way anyway. However, I do like to grant myself one online purchase a month, which ranges from $60-80.

never really kept track, but probably too much.

most months it's probably only around $100, but when I make trips to Dallas or Houston, those beer hauls will usually bump up my monthly average

I don't spend as much as I'd like. I hit up Stein's maybe once a month and drop about $50, then maybe a few six packs from the grocery store. Maybe a few nights a month at bar. Also the occasional trip out of town where I might spend a little more than normal.

Some of us have to factor in homebrewing costs as well. I've spent a small fortune over the years on equipment, but it's been a little while since I've had any major investments. I'd put the number at close to or a little over $1000 spent on equipment. Ingredients for 5 gallons of beer runs me about $15.

This is what gets me. I usually am out of state a couple of days every month an a half. I am always compelled to drop a hundo on several new brews, and then stock up on the ones i know i like

Fwiw, receipt that was given to me when my box was dropped off yesterday. This was a spur of the moment purchase so not a ton of thought was put into it. Plus some additions by the mule.

And I will probably have another load from Michigan next weekend that is about the same.
