as early as Friday.

Ryan is target for AStros

other articles on chron.com today saying the Astros will announce their new President on Friday...There is smoke here, but is there fire? personally think it would be a great move and who knows, could mean Round Rock eventually comes back in the fold as Astros AAA

I may be wrong, but I believe this doesn't happen if Nolan plans on staying with the Rangers long term. I think this is good news for the Astros. I can see them moving AAA back to Round Rock.

Fact of the matter is, Round Rock is a fantastic venue to watch a game. I went to quite a few games when they were the Astros AAA team. I've only been to 2 games since they've become the Rangers AAA team. The crowds seemed better during the Astros days... of course, I am biased and that is purely my opinion. I can't find any info on RR Express ticket sales over the last 6 years to prove my point.

Good hire by Crane, in my opinion. I see the TV deal getting done with the quickness.

Reid Ryan, 41, serves on the board of trustees for Minor League Baseball, the executive committee of the Pacific Coast League and is the board of trustees representative for the Baseball Internet Rights Company (BIRCO). He is also involved in many other business ventures, including real estate, banking and the restaurant industry.

I like his credentials. Seems to be just what the Astros need. Hopefully this will be a Luhnow-caliber hire.

I will gladly take Texas' AAA organization back in OKC.

appears that Reid is the man for the job. I love the hire and we are getting Nolan as a defacto consigliere for free!

Either RR comes back into the fold or the Z's get sold and move to the Woodlands. I'd prefer New Orleans keep the Z's honestly. Plus I don't care for The Woodlands all that much.

this is going to be a great team running the show now. I believe LUnhow knows what he is doing on the baseball side and that will prove out over the next 3 years. My only concern was him being hamstrung by incompetent leadership on the business side. Ryan knows what he is doing and has been around baseball all his life. he runs very successful teams and is well regarded across baseball for his own accomplishments. Doesn't hurt to have the ryan name either.

I love this hire.

The move has been well-received by many people affiliated with the organization.
