Looking at a 19' boat, 2007 model w/115 Suzuki. Located in the Keys, comes w/trailer, decent electronics, t-top. Asking 16K. Will use in flats, some reefs, not too far offshore. Anybody have one?

I looked at a couple used ones when I was hunting for my boat. They looked solod and looked to hold up to abuse. Not sure about the ride or any of that though.

I have the 2005 or 06(can't recall) 19' with 150 Merc. I like the boat. Coming from nothing but bass boats, I'm a little disappointed in some things, but that may be the type of boat, and not Nautic star.
Positives:
Fit and finish - they use quality stuff like latches, screws etc.
Layout - makes sense and is comfortable to use
Negatives:
Can't turn for shite. Seems like it slides around corners. I always feel like I am going to lose it.
Too wide for it's length. Beats me pretty bad
Cramped storage. If I need to get the crank battery out, it is probably going to take me 3 hours, and I'll be covered in oil.
No 12 volt supply for electronic at bow other than trolling power or trim.
Front floor storage area fills with water if not plugged(may be common-no idea)
Trailer used is a total POS.

Good info AT. How is it in skinny water?

Good post. Yeah, I looked at NADA/Kelly and saw that too. He has had it for sale now for a couple of months. I am going down in June and may be looking to pull the trigger. I am thinking no more than about 12-13K. Electronics may be pushing it some, but seems underpowered....

Same size? I know some boys down near Big Lake that use em and swear by em. I had my heart set on a Pathfinder but don't want to spend that much dough. thanks....

Oh, and no way would I buy one wit less than a 150, but that's just me. I imagine if all I did was salt, i may have a different opinion.

Yeah put 3 people in there loaded down and I dont think a 115 would cut it

Gotcha....would probably eventually put at least a 150...

Meh, you won't go 45+, but you should be able to hit the high 30s.
I have a 90 hp on a 18' boat with a similar hull and it'll hit in the low 40's with two people and light gear.
On a positive note, it will be economical as hell.
On another note, I find the NADA rates are crap...they really undervalue the boat.
I was looking at an old Whaler hull a year ago and the suggested retail for it was $1,200 (average sale going $900). That sucker went for $4,500.
I've done a substantial amount of research in boats of that size/make and if the boat/motor are in good shape, that's a pretty decent deal.
Last note, Nautic Stars are known for being pretty solid boats with a nice finish for the price. They have a very dedicated following in South LA. I would recommend them for someone looking for a solid boat that can fish the marsh and some light offshore fishing .

Here is our '12 Nautic Star 24 w/ 300 Yamaha
Like others have said, the fit and finish is pretty damn good and the front and rear decks have a great layout. We've had some reoccurring problems with the radio, but the dealer assures us that it's a faulty part and will replace soon. Front and rear bait wells work great. A few other things that I really like are the jump seats in the back which is a great spot to ride, the powerpole, and the t-top we added from the factory. All in all a great boat so far, but it's only got about ~60 hours on it, so time will tell as far as durability is concerned.
Here is a picture from Timbalier last summer.
and a random shot from after we first picked it up

I've fished some really shallow marsh this past fall/summer and the boat is totally capable of running to some light offshore spots this summer. As you mentioned about the following, there are at least 6 other nautic stars in our community in Dulac.
