I'll admit, I'm a PFF fanboy though.
To each his own, but I'd think PFF's glaring ommission of the Saints' addition of a true space-eating 3-4 NT in John Jenkins points to the half-assed effort they put in their "projections".

Even if he's a primary rush linebacker, he would still have to cover from time to time. He's not even good at rushing anymore.

Many 3-4 defenses (Saban loves doing this) will shift into fronts with essentially 4-3 DEs playing in a two-point stance at the OLB position in obvious run downs.
Willy McGinnest in the 2000s for Belichick.
You will see it occasionally from the Giants too. Osi would stand up and look awkward panda from time to time.

Wow, I'm shocked you found some way to inject the Pats into the conversation.

While he usually lines up as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme, the Patriots moved him to the defensive line as a defensive end in an effort to keep Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb from scrambling.
He was around the same height/weight as Smith. He was 2 inches taller, and weighed around 270-280.

When it is such a similar situation, I have no problem doing that. I also mentioned the Giants and PFF too.
